We’ve had our first few enquiries about the impact on COVID-19 on our upcoming events so wanted to let you know where our heads are at regarding Go Swim Loch Lomond in August. But before we go into that, we hope you are all safe and well!
This is an unprecedented and constantly evolving situation, so while there is uncertainly around what will happen in the next few weeks and months, we’re staying positive and are aiming to deliver our events as planned. This situation must end at some point and life will return to something that looks a bit more normal, and we please ask that you continue to support us by purchasing entries and we will continue to plan and organise our awesome events!
It goes without saying (but let’s say it anyway….) we are monitoring the situation with COVID-19 and advice from the UK Government and WHO, so if anything changes, we’ll let you know as soon as we know. We have to prioritise the health and safety of not only you, but also our crew, volunteers and locals.
To help provide some reassurance, we want to let you know that we’re introducing an amendment to our deferrals policy for anyone entering Go Swim from 1/3/20 until we advise otherwise. These entries will be eligible for a no quibbles deferral to the equivalent event in 2021. However, we must still receive notification of intention to defer by email to firstname.lastname@example.org at least 2 weeks prior to race day. For customers who have already entered Go Swim, our current T&Cs apply, but we want you to know that we consider COVID-19 ‘a reason beyond our control’, so you are equally protected should we need to postpone.
Finally, we’re not Mega-Corp inc. (though we try and be as professional as we can): we’re a small, independent business consisting of four permanent members of staff who love sports, putting on amazing events for you and generally doing stuff! We’re the ones that put a medal around your neck at the finish line, stand in the rain to cheer you on from the side-lines and make sure you’re safe and well at our events. We love what we do and want to make sure we can keep doing it! It’s a pretty horrible time for us and everyone else in the events industry and we really do appreciate your continued support and understanding at this difficult time.
